Six Design Principles of Next Stage Organizations
The Evolution of Work conversation continues tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Business Resource and Innovation Center (BRIC) in Tempe. BRIC is a co-working space in the Tempe Public Library at 3500 S. Rural Road.
This month we'll start with an overview of six design principles that are shared by many next-stage organizations. Then, using our sharing circle format, we'll ask each person to offer their thoughts and comment on their experience with these principles (or not) in the workplace. The six principles include:
From Profit to Purpose and Values
From Directive Leadership and Centralized Authority to Collective Leadership and Distributed Authority
From Hierarchical Pyramids to a Network of Teams
From Business as Usual to Putting People First
From Predict and Plan to Experiment and Adapt
From Secrecy to Radical Transparency
These gatherings represent an ongoing dialogue with people in the greater Phoenix area who are exploring, or perhaps actively experimenting with, how to rethink and redesign how people work together. Our hope is to build a local community of practice dedicated to shared learning, collaboration, and accelerating the shift toward more effective ways of leading and working in the 21st century.
Hope to see you there! Bring a friend and be prepared to share what you've been learning recently about next-stage organizations!
